Font research for our ancillary task (2)

We decided to do a mood board of a variety of different fonts in order to decide what the artists name would look best in. Becky created the mood board using Indesign allowing us to be able to visually compare them. As a group we decided that the font ‘Birch STD’ best suited the type of look we were going for as it is quite a masculine, bold font with a gothic edge to it. We decided that it would be best to use the same font throughout the process of making both the ancillary task (by making the album title, and the text on the back cover the same font) and the actual music video (the same font and colour appears at the start of our video) because it adds a sense of continuity and links the product to the video. The reason behind the colour scheme we chose is because, the contrast of the gold and black not only stands out and attracts the audience visually, but the black represents death, depression and sorrow (the general tone of our video), whilst the Gold represents the wealth a lot of rappers show off throughout the video and since our video is a rap video we thought it would be fitting.
